This is what happens when you stay home sick from church, take LOTS of meds and then feel better. i was checking out some fun blogs when i came across this craft room make over and i realized our office/playroom needed to be better utilized. so, after medicating myself (did i say that already???) i started working hard. i included a few "before" pics and even left the mess for an even better final reveal. we all love it...even this morning addison said to me, "mommy, thanks for the playroom, i love it." they now have more room to play.
BEFORE:
this is the corner where the desk is now.
this is the window wall (i know, duh!)-where the art table , easel, and bookshelf now are.
introducing....the new and improved playroom/office:
this wall of pictures is my favorite! they are all pics of the girls and put such a smile on my face and i like the combo of black and white frames. i didn't have enough of one so i combined the two and love it even more than just white or just black.
we used to have the desk sticking out from the window, which was perfect for when mark and i both needed to work because we could sit on either side. with the new computer, however, i don't need to stay just in the office now to work (yippee!) so i felt like moving it to the corner would be a better place. plus, i can put out the printer and other office "necessities" without them being in the way.
i wanted a place to display the girls' art work, so used a black frame i had already put a green piece of cute paper in, added some twine (just hot glued it into place on the back) and two clothes pins to create a show-n-tell place. i think i might eventually do something with some pieces of cork board i just bought today-but for now, this will do just fine. i added paper to the clothes pins, wrote the girls' names, and added a bow.
as you can see, the girls are already enjoying their playroom. i like to believe that i will just shut the door when the room gets messed up and not worry about it...but who am i kidding...i'll be in there immediately cleaning it up-or the girls will. august loves to sing, "clean up, clean up, everybody do your share."
