halloween crafts

someone's been busy....while the kids nap, mommy crafts!  i had some fun today!

BOO blocks.  i cut some wood pieces down to size (about 2 in by 3 in-or so-), spray painted brown and then lightly sanded the wood along the edges to give it the rustic look.  I cut some cute paper to fit and printed out some letters to spell BOO.  i cut the letters out and modge podged ( i like how that is a verb now) the paper and letters onto the block.  after drying, i put on a twine bow.  they look so cute on the mantle.

bring on the candy corn!  oh, yummy!  this project is dangerous though because there is only one thing you can do with the imperfect candy corn-EAT 'EM!  it didn't take as long as i thought it would.  i got the idea from crafty sisters .  mine isn't nearly as cute as theirs, but it is the first one i made.  maybe the second one will be as cute?????  one can hope!

i got this idea from the pottery barn catalog.  i haven't decided if i am going to attach a piece of wood, to put in the front yard, or attach some twine or wire to hang on the front door.  either way, it is pretty cute though.  spider webs are hard to draw, by the way.  i made this with scrap wood from the kitchen batten board project (ummm...still waiting for that project to be finished so i can post it).
