i am so excited that fall has finally arrived. don't get me wrong though- i LOVE everything about summer, mostly including staying at home with the girls and sleeping in. however, as far as "decorating" holidays go...i love fall! the colors are so vibrant and beautiful-the oranges, yellows, rusts, browns, etc. it is the one season when i don't mind my orange bathroom (yes, i said orange-it really compliments the orange and white tile-compliments of the previous owners-who were apparently a little off their rocker in the deco department-well, except the back bathroom, which is AMAZING!-but...i digress). anyway, a few years back i pulled out the pumpkins, etc at the beginning of september...um, needless to say, by november, i was so over the pumpkins, etc. so i decided to wait a little while longer to pull them out. monday, september 20th to be exact. it was perfect because the in-laws were coming and i could make it look all cute. i took pics, but with a camera i still don't know how to use properly, i don't feel the pictures do it justice. enjoy and imagine what they would like if becky fisher photography took them (holla, beck!)
this is along a side wall in our living room-table, compliments of the in-laws (an antique from mark's grandparents), the window was a garage sale find for $3, i painted some old vases white and put in some sticks and the lit thing is from our babysitter, imelda (looks great at night), and the little pumpkins were center pieces at my bro's wedding several years ago (i think i snagged about 52 of those cute lil things).
this is outside the front door-i forgot to take a pic of the front door wreath. i added some fall things to it. i'll post later.
the mantle-which looks plain jane in this pic, but "live" it is so pretty looking.
the kitchen table. this is one of my favorites. all of the pumpkins are from either michaels or big lots, back when it used to be pic-n-save and have more holiday decorations. i guess i can take off the sticker and plastic on the candles...gee, ya think? i kinda have this new obsession with cake plates. the one on the table is a planting pot turned up-side down, with a dessert plate on top. i didn't want to glue this one, but i have a few others i have glued. i'll create another post of those later. i'll be working on one tomorrow, actually!
