iPods and dora, the explorer

thank you, Lord for iPods and dora, the explorer cartoons.  if it were not for these two things (and a late-sleeping baby) i might not get to spend quality time with Jesus.  well, i suppose i could get up at the crack of dawn, but hey, i am on summer vacation,
so for now it is dora and iPods.

so, this morning i was reading more of my "discovering the treasures of a godly woman," by elizabeth george-a proverbs 31 study.  about a year ago i had been feeling like God wanted to use this book to further mold me into a better woman, wife, and mother, so i picked it up and have been going through it ever since (ummm...hit or miss quiet times, though-it doesn't really take a year to go through).   i have made it to verse 24, "she makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies sashes for the merchants." this chapter of the book, along with the verse in the passage, really struck a chord with me since i like to create, so i thought i'd share with you some of what the author wrote about it.  for those of you that like to craft, i hope you will be encouraged and blessed, as i was.
"'in the beginning God created...' (genesis 1:1).  the very first words in the Bible describe our great and mighty God as One who created and thus was creative.  but as an added bonus, my friend, you and i have been 'created...in His own image' (genesis 1:27).  this means we possess some of God's attributes, and one of those attributes is CREATIVITY.  do you realize that each time you create something, you are saying to everyone, 'i am creative because my God is creative, and i am made in His image'?"
awe...isn't that awesome?  i had never thought of my creative side as being creative because i have been made in the image of God.  it kind of brings new meaning to the crafts i create.  i shall proclaim God's handy work as i create my handy work.  thank you, Lord, for creativity...and for first modeling it for me.
